Freehand Feathers
Block number three. This free-motion machine quilting design was done without marking or guides. I did, however, prepare for it by drawing feathers on about twenty pages of a composition book while waiting for videos to upload. This is why … Continue reading

I see London, I see France: My Journey to Panty Perfection
I see London. I see France. I can see Russia from my house. I’m sorry. I couldn’t resist the cliché with the political twist…. While Lisa was here on a working vacation in July she, with the help of the … Continue reading

Let the quilting begin!
I love machine quilting. I love it so much that inspired me to purchase my Bernina 440QE. I don’t regret it at all. When I am quilting a project, I like to consume one bobbin of thread a day. Sometimes … Continue reading
Let’s get basted tonight!
I finished this Twin-sized quilt top this week, and I finished thread basting it moments ago. I know that most Quilters prefer basting with safety pins, but I am not entirely convinced that pin basting is easier or faster than … Continue reading
Crazy 4 U
Yes, the date is accurate, from what I can tell. You are looking at one of the thirty-six 12×12″ squares that make up the crazy quilt that I just bought today. It isn’t even the best square. It’s made mostly … Continue reading
Blue Convertible Dress Converted to Green
Let’s begin the post with a little disclaimer. The dress looks great on the dress form, but I think it’s important to see clothing on a real, live, squishy, active human. I’m not the most photogenic person, especially when I’m … Continue reading

Tea Cozy
Sometimes making art is about as exciting as watching paint dry. This is usually when I am literally watching paint dry. During times like these, it is good to know that I possess the materials and skills necessary to create … Continue reading

Wadder!!
The fabric I bought along with the new pattern yesterday had stretch, and it turns out the pattern called for no stretch. As a result, I took some fabric from my stash to make up the pattern today. Even after … Continue reading
Hey, Look! New fabric and prewashing tips.
Okay, so I’m busy getting ready for the Big Show. I need to stay focused. Except… I couldn’t wait to take off my nasty polyester work blouse today, and the thought of wearing polyester through another summer was not sounding … Continue reading
