The Masquerade Ball
As we move into the darker, colder seasons I’m able to focus more on indoor art projects. NMC Dance Club’s Masquerade Ball gave me the perfect opportunity to reawaken my visual-arts chops. The base of the mask is papier mache … Continue reading

I see London, I see France: My Journey to Panty Perfection
I see London. I see France. I can see Russia from my house. I’m sorry. I couldn’t resist the cliché with the political twist…. While Lisa was here on a working vacation in July she, with the help of the … Continue reading

Magic Socks

For Pete’s Sake
I am not dying. I am dyeing. Really, I CAN spell but somewhere in the wee hours of the night my dyeing process became a dying process. Both are good techniques to do well I suppose.
Work in Progress: Hanging Out
This is the stretch silk charmeuse fabric I dyed last night hanging out in a fare facsimile of the finished convertible dress. Fabric that is cut on the bias–as the skirt of this dress is–must hang for a while to … Continue reading

Dyeing in Process
Arranging fabric on pulley system in preparation for dyeing. Yup, pulley works. Yay! Fabric being dyed main color: teal blue that doesn’t really look teal. Under-dyeing with ombre technique using teal blue. About an hour later: Over-dyeing in bronze using … Continue reading
