Empty Silhouettes

Remember all those boards I was preparing? Well, this is one of them.

"Empty Silhouettes" - 8x10", mixed media on hardboard, by Lisa M. Yarost, Copyright 2011

Talk about mixed media… It’s all in there but the fabric.

It’s hard to capture the depth of this in a photograph, but I’m pretty pleased with it. I may have a difficult time letting this one go.

Nice. Is that pastels and paper? Paint? Details please. (I’m still trying to plan the next phase of my moon lady picture. I know what I want to do, but am not sure how to best achieve it.)

    Thanks, Lisa.
It’s hardboard with Gesso, acrylic, collage, ink, glazing, and gel medium. The drawing was done with water soluble crayons (like watercolor pencils, only fat.)
The trick is to just keep going until you like it. This one had a painting on it that I was unhappy with, so I covered it up and began again.
    Good luck!
